Maxx V6 DRM Editing

From Guides

by cash7c3

This guide will teach you to port/create DRM for your phone. Before you start download an already made DRM that you know works on your phone and put it on your desktop. Also download the DRM you want to port and put the file on your desktop. In this guide I am porting the iPhone DRM by vimm from the V3x to the MAXX.

Programs you will need:

3g DRM Tool
SBF Recalc

Now lets begin.

Open up SBF Recalc

1.png

Click "Open Flash-File" and then select the DRM you are porting that you have saved on your desktop. Since I am porting vimm's iPhone DRM from the v3x to the MAXX I am selecting vimm's iphone DRM. Click "Open"

2.png

Now SBF Recalc should look something like this:

3.png

Click on "Split Flash-File"

4.png

On your desktop you will have three new files (the split DRM)

5.png

Open 3g DRM Tool and click "Extract Gif from DRM"

6.png

Select the cg15 from the DRM you split and press "Open"

7.png

A folder will appear on your desktop named "Gif-Folder (CG15)" Re-name this folder to something else. Now is also a good time to delete those three files that were created on your desktop when you split the DRM you are porting from.

8.png

Go back to SBF Recalc. Click "open flash-file" and select the DRM you are porting to (the DRM you know works on your phone). Click "Open."

9.png

Go back into 3g DRM Tool. Click "Extract Gif from DRM," select the cg15 on your desktop from the DRM you just slip and click "Open."

12.png

You should now see two folders on your desktop. The folder you renamed is the one you are porting from. The folder named Gif-Folder (CG15) is the folder you are porting to.

13.png

In the picture below I have opened both folders. The top folder contains the icons of the DRM I am porting from (vimm's iPhone DRM for the V3x. The bottom folder is the DRM I am creating (in this case for the Maxx). I want to move the images from the top folder into the bottom folder. This is simple drag and drop.

Things you need to take note of:
The files names and size in pixels in the bottom folder for the images are important. When replacing a image in the bottom folder (the folder for the DRM you are creating) you need to replace the files you want to change with a file of the correct size (pixels) and name. You may have to open up the image from the DRM you are porting in Photoshop and resize it so it is the same size as the image you are replacing.

For a list of commonly replaced images check out the MAXX DRM Map

15.png

Once you are done replacing images in your Gif-Folder (CG15) open up 3g DRM tool. Click "create new DRM," select the cg15.smg file from the DRM you know works on your phone, and click "Open."

16.png

Watch as the pretty green bar goes accross 3g DRM Tool and it does its magic.

17.png

Now go back into SBF Recalc. Click "Open CG-Folder." Since we have been working on our desktop we select desktop and click "Ok."

18.png

Now SBF Recalc will show that you have loaded three files. The .hmg file, the RAMDLD.smg, and the CG15.smg.

19.png

Click "Create SBF-File." SBF Recalc will show that the file was created.

20.png

On your Desktop will be a new folder called "SBF-Flash File." Inside it is the DRM you just compiled. Rename it appropriately.

You're done! You now have a new DRM you can flash to your phone!
