Maxx V6 Seem Editing

Seem editing the Maxx V6 is slightly different than the older phones, as many programs are not compatible with the Maxx yet. This tutorial will show you how to edit seems in your Maxx using P2k Commander to download/upload the seem, and XVI32 to edit it.

You will need the following two programs to complete this tutorial:

P2K Commander 4.9.6 - (really any version above 4.9.2 will work)
XVI32 - (or your hex editing program of choice)

Lets get started. I'll assume for this tutorial that you have already installed the necessary drivers for your phone and are able to get P2k Commander connected to your Maxx.

Open P2k Commander and make sure it says connected. In the drop down menu on the right, select <b>P2k phone seems.

When the Seem manager pop-up window appears, type in the seem number and record you want. For this example I will be using seem 0032 record 0001, or 0032_0001 as its commonly referred to. Now click READ and save to file.



P2k Commander will ask you where to save the seem. Save wherever you'd like, here I am saving in My Documents.



Now open XVI32.

In XVI32, go to the File menu, and select Open...



Open the seem you saved earlier.



Now, we need to edit the seem. You can find a list of seem edits for the Maxx in our Maxx seem map . For now we will edit offset 02. In the Address menu of XVI32, select Goto... (or just hit Ctrl+G).

Make sure the hexadecimal button is selected, and type in the offset you are looking for, in this case, 02.



The offset will now show up as highlighted in the XVI32 window. Click the Tools menu and go to Bit manipulation..

For this edit, we just want to make sure bit 3 is set to 0, or unchecked. It is, so we are ok. If it wasn't, we would need to unclick bit 3, and hit set. For now, just click set.

Now click Save from the File menu to save the edited seem.



OK, go back to P2k Commander, and select P2k phone seems from the drop down menu again.

In the pop-up window, now click Load from file and WRITE.



Navigate to the seem you just edited and saved, and click Open.



Click Restart or hit F9 while in P2k Commander, and you are done!

Congrats, you have completed your Maxx seem edit!
